Iran Promotes Aussie Holocaust Denier Who Bemoans Real Holocaust in Gaza

Australia is like a lot of countries. It’s home to some smart folks, and some that are dangerously dumb. Case in point is Dr. Gerald Fredrick Toben, a Holocaust denier based in Adelaide, Australia. Dr. Toben recently called the Israeli attacks in Gaza a “Real Holocaust. His comments were picked up on by the Iranian Mehr News Agency:

“Yesterday we had a book launch in Tehran. The book directly focuses on the Holocaust and what is happening in Palestine, especially the 22 days of a real holocaust occurring to the Palestinians in Gaza.

“That was significant, that we had in Iran the focus and the bringing together of the Holocaust with what is happening to the Palestinians as perpetrated by the Zionist regime of Israel.

“That the 27th of January is marked as a Holocaust memorial day… indicates that the Holocaust is being used as a propaganda weapon by the Talmudic Zionist racist regime in Israel.”

Though I will focus my Outrage-O-Meter performance metrics solely on his “22 days of a real holocaust” statement, it’s hard to get past his “Talmudic Zionist racist regime in Israel” comment. The hate flowing through this man’s mind must be overpowering to him. It’s a helluva combination of adjectives, any one of which would be offensive. But combined together he achieves a sort of pure, crystalline form of hate.

The source of so much stupidity

It’s hard not to take offense when someone uses a current tragedy, like the the Gaza attacks, to sell his notion that the Holocaust did not happen. Yuck.

By the way, the “gas chamber expert from the United States” that Dr. Toben references, is Fred Leuchter, the same person that Bishop Richard Williamson (the Holocaust-denying Bishop whom Pope Benedict is trying to un-excommunicate) uses to justify his beliefs. Everything you need to know about the sad, little man Fred Leuchter can be found in Oscar-winning director Errol Morris’ “Mr. Death: The Rise and Fall of Fred A. Leuchter, Jr.” It’s a brilliant, powerful documentary that effectively shows that Leuchter is, well, nuts.
