Natural Childbirth Instructor Dubbed “Vagina Nazi”
Because of her strict support of vaginal births, one childbirth instructor at a California hospital has been dubbed “the Vagina Nazi.”
She tried again with her second child, attempting what’s known as a VBAC – vaginal birth after Caesarean – but was advised again during labor to deliver by Caesarean.
“You tend to want to err on what you think is the side of safety,” said Evans, who offers classes in such alternative methods as HynoBirthing at Harmony. “But the more you do that, the less that becomes the safe side, and the more it starts to interfere with the process.”
Of course, one mother’s “natural” childbirth is another woman’s theater of pain. At one local hospital’s childbirth classes, the instructor showed such disdain for any method other than natural birth, the mothers in her class dubbed her “the Vagina Nazi.”

Let’s hope no one who has no idea of her profession overhears someone calling her “the Vagina Nazi.”
This particular Analogy That Cannot Be Topped seems to fall in the most benign category. It’s basically a variation of Seinfeld’s “The Soup Nazi.” It is an effort to apply the Nazi appellation to someone whom no one would accuse of being an actual Nazi, but clearly has extreme tendencies in their particular field. It’s essentially a gentle mockery, and it rarely seems to evoke images of gas chambers and packed cattle cars, thankfully.
“Vagina Nazi” leaps to the front of the pack as my new favorite benign Nazi reference, besting previous favorite “Vegan Nazi.”
